A busy year for Healthwatch North Tyneside

It has been a busy time for Healthwatch North Tyneside who has published a number reports this week about their work over the last 12 months and on pharmacy services.

Healthwatch North Tyneside’s Annual Report has been published and shared with Healthwatch England. The annual report details their work over the last 12 months and the impact they have made.

Chair Julia Charlton said in the report:

"Listening to people’s views is core to our work, and we continue to look at new ways of reaching people, from working with partners to reach as many people as possible in our community, to continuing our successful online communications.

"In the last year we have heard from 2,441 residents, and we reached more people with online surveys than ever before."

Healthwatch North Tyneside also published its six-monthly Insights Report, providing a summary of what people have told us over the last six months, and the key findings from their recent engagement activities about dentistry, pharmacy and young carers. The report has been shared with North Tyneside’s Health and Wellbeing Board.

Healthwatch’s plans for the next three years were recently set out in their Strategic Plan. It lays out their five key themes including providing information, focusing on key issues, understanding people’s views and experiences, influencing, and being a robust organisation.

Most recently they have published two new reports about pharmacy services in North Tyneside. Firstly, they were asked by North Tyneside’s Health and Wellbeing Board to gather evidence of experiences of pharmacy services to inform the review of the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment. Secondly, they produced their own report based on what people had told them about pharmacy services over the last two years and made recommendations on how to improve services.

With thanks to Healthwatch North Tyneside
