The North Tyneside Mental Health Alliance was established in 2022 to build a place-based alliance of voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations.

Our mission is to build a strong, accessible Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Mental Health Alliance that influences and supports emerging mental health strategies. We want to increase confidence within the VCSE sector to be recognised as equal partners with statutory colleagues and ensure the sector has a voice.

Aims of the Alliance

  • To strengthen integrated working between the VCSE sector and other health partners.
  • To co-design solutions that promote equality and reduce health inequalities.
  • To provide a collective voice for VCSE sector partners.
  • To provide a co-ordinated route for health partners to reach a wide range of VCSE sector organisations.
  • To strengthen the existing relationships within the VCSE sector, to encourage and support collaborative working.
  • To support building the capacity and profile of VCSE sector providers.

Membership

Alliance membership is open to any voluntary and community groups who are supporting the people of North Tyneside with their mental health and wellbeing.

It’s free to join the Mental Health Alliance and we offer a number of benefits:

  • An opportunity to meet up with other like-minded people from the VCSE sector at our monthly Alliance meetings to share information, as well as hearing from guest speakers.
  • An invitation to our Mental Health Alliance: Cross Sector Providers’ Network meeting held every 3 months.
  • Access to our fully funded training programme covering subjects such as Eating Distress, Mental Health First Aid and Trauma Informed Practice.
  • Monthly E-bulletin sharing relevant updates, training, funding and Alliance member news.
  • An invitation to networking events for VCSE organisations and statutory service colleagues to connect, celebrate achievements and build relationships.
