Celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee in North Tyneside

With the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations just around the corner, we got together with our friends at North Tyneside VODA to share some of the fantastic community events taking place to mark this historic occasion.

We obviously haven’t managed to include everyone, so if you have an event you would like us to share, please feel free to tag Living Well North Tyneside and North Tyneside VODA on social media.

As with all events and activities, please check with the venues for the most up to date information before attending, including ensuring dates and times are correct and whether you are required to book in advance.

North Tyneside will host a spectacular beacon lighting ceremony to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. An event will take place on Thursday 2 June, from 6.30pm to 10pm, at Segedunum Roman Fort and Museum, Wallsend, to signal the start of the extended Bank Holiday weekend.

It will include a free programme of family entertainment, food vendors and market stalls, pipers and buglers, a firework display and a giant screen beaming out images from other ceremonies across Britain and the Commonwealth, and from seven decades of The Queen’s reign.
