North Tyneside Community Hubs and Libraries will host The Haunted Page Festival throughout October 2026 at North Shields Community Hub and Library, bringing together horror, folklore and weird fiction in a month-long celebration of storytelling.
The festival will feature a packed programme of author events, talks, workshops, poetry readings and interactive experiences inspired by the spooky season. North Tyneside's coastline, communities and heritage have long inspired powerful storytelling, making it the perfect setting for this new literary festival.
Highlights include a poetry evening with local writers Megan Pattie, Lewis Brown and Kym Deyn; a creative writing workshop exploring ghosts and hauntings; a Halloween-themed murder mystery night; and talks delving into Tyneside's ghost stories, folklore and witch-haunting history. Visitors will also have the opportunity to hear from bestselling authors including Rachel Harrison and C.J. Cooke.
The festival is being delivered in partnership with The Bound Bookshop and the North East Folklore Society as part of the National Year of Reading.
Events take place throughout October at North Shields Community Hub and Library. Some events are free, while others are ticketed, and booking is recommended.
