If you're experiencing financial hardship or a crisis, support is available through:
Local Welfare Provision (LWP) - Support During a Crisis
Provides emergency help with:
- Food, energy, and essential travel
- Vouchers for food, clothing, or household items
- Foodbank and hygiene parcels
- Advice and referrals to other support services

If you need help being directed to the form or computer access, you can visit one of our customer hubs or libraries.
The quickest and most efficient way to request support is by completing the online application form through My Care below (you can apply any time, 24 hours).

You must live in North Tyneside to apply. Urgent cases are prioritised, and the team aims to respond within 1 working day.
Household Support Fund (HSF) - Support in hardship
Helps with everyday living costs like:
- Food and energy bills
- Essential household items
Eligibility:
- Live in North Tyneside
- One application per household (April 2025–March 2026)
- No savings
- Facing significant financial hardship
